This was a bit of a find. We were first enticed in because we were offered 10% discount and, unusually, there was duck on the menu. I was a bit dubious because I prefer the spit and sawdust of the Sweet and Spicy. I didn't care about the 10% because Pete was paying off a bet connected with the Tuesday night quiz. Having got in I was impressed with the service, although Alison was a bit disconcerted by the waiters calling me 'mate', and the range of the menu.
It's fairly new, opened November 1999 and a bit upmarket, although this is more reflected in the colourful crockery and not the prices. A sort of a cosy Cafe Naz. We've been back a few times since the initial visit and not been diasappointed. It's a small place so prepare to be turned away or wait for a table if you get there after about 8:30
The menu is HUGE there shoud be something there to match your taste. Special mention to:
There is some booze on the premises but they don't mind if you bring your own beer or wine. Vegetarians are well catered for and I'd say it is an ideal venue for a party of mixed veggies and carnivores.
Summary: popadums and chutney, 2 starters, 3 mains, 1 rice, 2 parathas, one tea and one coffee to finish 27GBP. Tasty food, good price and reasonable service.
